Lightning, her real name is Claire Farron (Éclair Farron in the Japanese version). She is a playable character and the main protagonist in Final Fantasy XIII. Claire is shown to be a cold person, who distances herself from her companions. She wields a gun-blade, namely the Blazefire Saber (Blaze Edge in the Japanese version) that can switch between its forms.
